My morning started out horribly....
It seemed like every time I tried to get something done, something else stood in my way. I couldn't even drink coffee without spilling it all over the computer desk.
Just one of those mornings.
Lee and I discussed me going back to school, and we decided that I would reapply to the Physical Therapy program this year, and if I were accepted we would figure it all out later.
I called the school and was informed that the application was due today! In a panic I started calling my mother to see if she would watch the kids so I could go up to the college (Angel didn't have school today).
My mother was all to happy to inform me that she had errands to run. *Shit shit shit.... who can I call now???* I called my best friend Christina; no answer *probably sleeping*.
I decided to gather the girls and just make due. I get the girls ready and Renee decided it was a good time to make a messy diaper *Ahhhh could you not have done that sooner?*
Okay.. the baby was clean jackets were on and the diaper bag was packed... time to go; right? Nope "I'm hungry Mom." Angel says.
So I take off their jackets, make lunch and finally think I'm ready to leave. *Oh wait, I need my marriage certificate so I can change my name at school* Okay where'd I put it... safe... no, file... no, um maybe I put it in the picture frame.... no.* **CRAP!!** I call the school and they say that it's fine I just need to bring my new social security card.
Okay the girls and I walk out the door to the car and are on our way.
About half way there Christina calls me and says she just woke up. She agrees to ride with me and the girls while I run from place to place. She was an absolute life saver. I don't know how I could have gotten everything done without her. I know I thanked her enough to annoy her, but I really wanted her to know just how thankful I was that she helped me today.
I ended up running from one town to another and back to get all of my paperwork in order; but I finally got it all done. I officially applied to the PTA program! YEA! I hope I get in, it's something that I've wanted for a long time...
This weekend the local children's hospital had their annual radiothon. When Angel heard the stories of those sick kids she emptied her piggy bank and asked if it was enough to save them. I told her it was a start. Then we decided to get the Naughty Neighbor and go door to door on Saturday. The girls and I walked from 10:30 am to about 4:00pm collecting donations.
They worked so hard and I am so very proud of them!
They would walk up to the door and take turns ringing the doorbell.
Angel would start with, "Would you like to donate some change to..."
NN would kick in then and say, "The Monroe Carell Jr."
And they both would say, "Children's Hospital?"
It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen.
They even remembered to thank everyone even if they didn't donate.
After all their hard work we came home and counted the change and bills. It totaled $150.50. They were so proud, we were all proud of them. So then we let the girls eat and packed them up to head down to the hospital.
We get down to the hospital and they had just announced the grand total. :(
At first the girls were very disappointed, but then a DJ came up to them, and took their names, and promised them the chance to give the money they collected.
I spoke with the DJ and he connected me with the directer at the Children's Miracle Network who agreed to meet the girls at their school today and collect the money.
At 1pm today she is going to meet me at the girls school. We are going to pull them out of class and allow the girls to present their donations, in exchange the director will give them goodie bags and take pictures.
I just know it's going to make their day! I am so excited for them!
My neighbor, the one I call Diva, is irritating the piss out of me!!! Two to three days a week I pick her daughter up from school. Her daughter the Naughty Neighbor is one of the worst kids I've ever babysat before. I know that this is the product of Diva's teaching; where else can a 5 year old learn such bad behavior?!?

Some of what I have caught Naughty Neighbor doing:
She pulled her pants down and crawled around the floor in front of a little boy and said to him, "Come get me." *Wow, obviously her mother is adventurous.*
Her vocabulary mainly consists of vulgar use of language, ex: "If you tell on me I'm gonna shit on you!" *And Diva though this was funny when I told her about it.*
She lies constantly about everything from arguments and stealing, to feeding the dog her dinner.
She doesn't listen to anyone; when you tell her to do something, she completely ignores you or begins to throw a screaming tantrum. * I can't stand those either!!!*
She likes to play lets murder the Barbie's and behead them all, which really hurts Angels feelings. *We have taught Angel that even pretend killings are bad*
Naughty Neighbor thinks it's funny to hurt other peoples feelings, but heaven forbid you hurt her feelings!!
Oh and her table manners are atrocious! She talks with her mouth full, smacks her lips, continually puts her elbows on the table, and didn't even know what prayer was until I taught her.
As I said before I know she learned all this from her mother. Her mother claims to be christian, but has never taken her daughter to church, taught her about God or the power of prayer. *Now I know I am by no means a saint, but my daughter knows the 10 commandments, the difference between Jesus, and God, and that the bible is here to help guide us in our daily lives*
Diva lies to everyone constantly, even when there is no reason to lie. *Diva often lies about why she needs me to watch her daughter, she will say that she has to work late, but she will pick her daughter up and have a new tan, and a manicure. Now I'm no Brian Tracy, but I believe it takes quite a while to get all that done.* Diva also openly argues in front of her daughter with her loser boyfriend, and they get physical with one another. She has no set routine for Naughty Neighbor, sometimes it's bed by 8 sometimes by 11; yes on school nights. I could keep going on and on.... this all just takes me back to my post a long time ago about What Happened To Parenting?
OctoMom and Angelina Jolie look so similar it's eerie! I'm not going to get into details, I'm sure you have all heard the story about OctoMom. Odd isn't it how she gets her own super hero nickname? Anyway... here's a link if you don't know the story.
My opinions in this case are probably left best to myself, who am I to judge? I just wanted to point out how much Angelina Jolie and Nadya Suleman look alike.
We had been down to one vehicle for more than 2 weeks and I was fed up. It was tiring chauffeuring around 2 kids a and a husband. We would all have to be up at about 4:30am to get every one to their respective places. I told my husband that if he hadn't found a vehicle by this Sunday (2-8) he would be sleeping in the van. *Chuckle*
On our first attempt out we *I mean the girls and I* spent most of the day stuck in the car while my husband dragged... oops I mean brought us from dealer to dealer looking for trucks. By about 5pm we were fed-up and frustrated with each other. It was the nicest place we had been to all day and Angel had to pee. So the girls and I go inside to pee and a woman invites the girls to play, (they had a pretty nice little play room). Angel was sitting on the floor playing with a toy when Renee started running across the room full force, tripped over Angel's foot and face-planted on a hard tile floor. I picked her up immediately expecting to find blood everywhere, instead I found a purple forehead. I felt so bad for her. I held her while she screamed and felt so helpless. This was her first big boo boo. I handed her over to my husband for a while because she really just wanted daddy. We went home shortly after that, luckily she just had a big knot on her forehead and it wasn't a concussion.
Well finally he purchased an SUV on Sunday! Yea!!!! It's nothing massively special, but it is nice. The guy we bought if from was pretty cool too! His name is Brent Jeffers and he is the keyboard tech for Journey!
We had an awesome Christmas!!!
I wish I could tell you that, but I'd be bullshitting you. In reality we had a miserable Christmas.
On Christmas eve, Renee got very very sick. I had been up with her all night and was at her Dr.'s office as soon as they opened up. Her fever got up to 103 and even with Tylenol she still ran around 100. Her nose was stopped up and running (don't ask me how this works, I still can't figure that one out), and she was soooo moody. As it turns out she had a double ear infection, a sinus infection and a upper respiratory infection. *Poor Baby*
She was miserable, I was miserable so the whole house was miserable. *You know the saying; If momma ain't happy....* I was attempting to bake brownies for Santa with Angel in between helping Renee. Then finally I get Angel to sleep and try to wrap the last of the presents and poor Renee just wanted me to hold her. I was up until 1am baking pies for Christmas dessert, wrapping presents, and taking care of Renee.
Oh and just a side note; Never try to melt chocolate in the microwave, it will catch on fire! But never mind about that I will tell you more in a while.
So Christmas morning I wake to a little hand rubbing my arm, "Mommy! Hey Mommy! Santa came! He ate the brownies and left me a tiara!!! Come see, come on!"
I look at the clock and it was 5:34am! It took just about everything I had to get out of bed and make a pot of coffee. *How in the world can she possibly be up this early?!? If it were any other day she would stay in bed until almost 10am! But No not this day, not on Christmas! She was too excited and of course I hadn't much of any sleep*
So I sit there halfway paying attention to what she is saying and doing. At that point she probably could have asked me for the car keys and I'd have told her to have fun. She goes through her stocking and shows me everything....twice.
The baby wakes up and I give her some more medicine. I feed Angel some breakfast and told her after breakfast she could start to open gifts.
Both the girls ate and by this time Renee's meds had kicked in and she was feeling rambunctious for the moment. So it was time to open gifts. Angel flies through her gifts and starts tearing into them. Renee kept looking at Lee and I like we were going to yell at her for tearing the paper; so we helped her unwrap her gifts. For another hour the girls were beaming from ear to ear with their new things.
We had to get ready to leave because we had to go to Lee's family and my family for Christmas lunch and dinner. But that's another story...
Thanksgiving went very very very well. We endured 2, 8 hour trips in the van with a 6 year old and a almost 11 month old and no one cried! NOT EVEN ONCE!!!!! Those girls did wonderful, I am so proud of them! It was nice to see the family, but by the end of the weekend I was ready to get in my own bed again. *Note to self: tell story about Holiday Inn Express* I will get back to the rest of that in another blog; this blog is about catching up.
My older sister's birthday was on December 1st. The same day her grandmother kicked her and her family out! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ANN! *Theres another blog in itself*
I've been having terrible back pain for about a month now. My husband finally nagged me enough to go to the doctor. I guess it's a good thing that he did. As it turnes out I have Osteoarthritis and Degenerative Spondylosis! *Try to say that 3x fast!* They also did X-rays of my left ankle because I've been having alot of pain in it. Turns out I have what the doctor called post traumatic arthritis. Blah blah blah... I didn't need her to tell me that. I suppose that's what happens when you break both of your legs, arms and face in a car accident! *Tell you guys all about that on another day... someone just remind me...please*
So I figure...I'm 24 and falling apart! Great! On the upside I still have my insanity *grin*.
Limping through the snow...
With a brand new silver cane...
Forget the hills, we'll go...
Around the bend; that way...
We are going to see my family on thanksgiving! It's official, and my husband is coming too! :) We have a lot going on right now, but most of it is wonderful news. Here it goes *I'll try to keep it all in order of occurrence*
Renee took her first steps *and by steps of course I mean wobbly attempts that landed her on her face*
Angel has not been an angel lately she in fact has been the Anti-Angel. Good grades though!
Lee hit a deer... Angel thinks he killed Rudolph! We have tried to explain to her that it was just a deer and not Rudolph, it has not worked. She wants to know how Santa is going to drive his sleigh without Rudolph to light the way....* I don't know how to explain it to her*
We go to court tomorrow and it will be official, Angel will then legally be Lee's daughter! We are so excited!
I asked Angel if wanted Lee to be her Daddy then she looked at me and said... "Yeah because I want two Dads."
I look at her as if she has just lost her mind and tell her that it does not work that way; that she can't have two dads.
She glares at me and says, "YES I CAN!"
"How, Angel, How can you have 2 dads?"
This is when she looks at me dead in the eye and says, "God our Father!"
*I was thrown for a loop, she was right and I knew it*
I apologized to her and told her she was right.
Then she explains to me that God is every body's father and Mother Nature is every body's mother so that everyone can have a mom and dad.
I think it was the smartest thing I have ever heard come out of a child.
